Welcome to Giving at Home Homeless Outreach Community Volunteer!

We are a group of volunteers who believe in giving back to our community. We organize various events and projects throughout the year to support those in need. Our organization is run by volunteers and we are always looking for more people to join us. If you have a passion for making a difference and want to be a part of a great community, then being a Giving at Home Homeless Outreach Community Volunteer

is the place for you!

This is a list of various ways you can help us by volunteering.

Volunteers can play a crucial role in helping a homeless outreach program expand its outreach efforts.

Here are several ways volunteers can contribute:

Street Outreach:

  • Engage with the Homeless Community during out set up at locations: Volunteers can go out into the community when we set up at location, offering basic necessities, Hygiene packs, blankets, clothing, help prepare and serve food for outreach events, pass out information about available services, and compassionate conversation.
  • Distribute Supplies: Provide essentials such as food, water, hygiene kits, blankets, socks, and informational sheets about available resources in the streets (not outreach setup event) when we drive through the different areas of Albuquerque to distribute the items that were donated for the homeless community.

Advocacy and Awareness:

  • Educate the Community: Volunteers can organize talks, workshops, or events to educate the public about homelessness, its causes, and how they can help.
  • Advocate for Policy Change: Volunteers can participate in advocacy efforts to influence policies that positively impact homelessness.

Event Organization and Support:

  • Organize Fundraisers: Help plan and execute fundraising events to support the outreach program such as planning a bake sale, a clothing, blanket or Hygiene drive.
  • Coordinate Awareness Campaigns: Assist in planning and implementing campaigns to raise awareness about homelessness.

Social Media and Communications:

  • Social Media Management: Manage social media accounts to share stories, information, and updates about the outreach program's activities.

Language Support and Translation:

  • Translation Services: Offer translation services if you're multilingual to assist us in communicating to those who don't speak English as their primary language.

Community Partnerships:

  • Forge Partnerships: Identify and establish relationships with local businesses, churches, schools, or other organizations for support or collaboration.

Volunteers serve as a bridge between outreach programs and the communities they serve. By actively engaging with people experiencing homelessness, raising awareness, and supporting the operational aspects of outreach programs, volunteers significantly contribute to making a positive impact.
